“It just felt like I had bumped into something, so I just casually turned to my right to look. My whole arm was in its mouth, just floating there,” Tiffany Johnson told local news outlets. The shark cut her arm clean off, which actually may have saved her life because it allowed her to swim away freely.
Johnson’s husband J.J. credits her belief in God for helping her remain calm and survive. He was watching it all unfold from the boat, when he heard her scream he instantly jumped into the water.

“She’s saying, ‘Help me, help me, Jesus’ and she’s praying as she’s swimming back,” he said. Eventually, she made it to safety and survived the harrowing ordeal. Incredibly, her perspective and faith are rock solid. ““Who cares about a limb?” she told WBTV. “It’s a limb and I’m here.”
Johnson explained that during the incident she “felt this tangible peace on me and it was so thick, that I was just calm. She’s already had two surgeries and a third is coming soon.
