“Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson took to Instagram this week to reveal a scary ordeal that she recently faced in which three men followed her inside of a mall before parking their van right next to her car.
In the end, Robertson stayed safe and expressed gratitude that the situation ended without incident, though she declined to go into the finer details about what unfolded.
“I smile with joy, peace, and thankfulness tonight before going to bed. Tonight was a very frightening night,” Robertson wrote. “I walked out into the parking garage and saw a white van parked beside my car with 3 men that had previously been following me in the mall.”
In addition to expressing gratitude for her safety, she said she wanted to share a “message of awareness,” reminding her fellow Christians that, despite God’s goodness, bad things can and do still happen in life.

“Even though we serve a GOOD God let me remind you that scary things can happen at anytime, because until the day Jesus comes back evil will still be in the world,” Robertson continued. “First off, I want to encourage you in saying that that’s when the promises of the Lord are something we have to truly be so thankful for.”
Despite facing a scary situation during which she said her heart was “beating pretty fast,” the reality TV star knows she’s protected by God and can have internal peace in realizing that he has her best interests at heart.
“I’m thankful I do not have to fear anything in the world because this world is not my home,” she wrote. “I’m thankful for the big picture, and honestly I’m really thankful for good people. For my earthly dad who answered the phone to calm my Spirit, and for my Heavenly Father who sends His Spirit to comfort me.”
She used her ordeal to tell others that they, too, can have peace in God, pointing people to her inspirational YouTube videos for more information about faith.
But Robertson also said she wanted to drive home the importance of being aware of one’s surroundings.
“We aren’t necessarily the most aware of our surroundings generation, but a minute of not paying attention tonight could of created a whole different life for me,” she continued. “Be aware, always be in prayer, trust your ‘weird feelings’ (Spirit Checks), and call your accountability ALWAYS no matter how sure you are of the situation.”
Robertson concluded, “I’m praying for bravery over every person who encounters a situation like the one I did tonight.”
