Famed evangelist Billy Graham is quickly approaching his 99th birthday, and as he prepares to celebrate yet another milestone in November, his son, Franklin Graham, has shared some new details about his elderly father’s condition.
Billy Graham spends most of his time inside his Montreat, North Carolina, home, where friends and family come to visit the famed evangelist — a man who has traveled the world preaching the Christian gospel.
According to Franklin Graham, while age has taken its physical toll, his father is doing quite well.
“He is doing well, he does have the physical challenges that come with his age,” Franklin Graham recently wrote on his Facebook page. “He enjoys visits from family members, including his sister who is his only remaining sibling. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren also come by more frequently in these summer months.”
Graham said that his father’s pastor, Don Wilton, also comes to visit weekly, something that Wilton has done for the past 20 years.
He also revealed that the famed evangelist is kept company by a cat named “Kitty.” The pet was a gift from his children for his 90th birthday. Graham concluded the post by thanking the public for their prayers and well-wishes.
“Thank you for your concern and prayers for him,” he wrote. “You really don’t know how much that means to our family.”
