Ontario resident Bianca Rollo found the perfect way to tell her grandpa she was expecting, and the results will warm your heart.
Rollo has always had a special relationship with her 84-year-old grandfather, Harry Rollo Sr., who his grandchildren call “Papa,” she told ABC News.
“I am the first grandchild, so my Papa and I have a different relationship than my brother and sister,” she said.
The family patriarch would take his eldest granddaughter on boat rides, motorcycle rides, shopping at garage sales and out for ice cream, Rollo said.
While Papa also adores Rollo’s husband, Ryan, and their little Yorkie, Audrey, he couldn’t wait for a human great-grandchild.
Family members filmed the emotional moment Rollo gifted her grandfather with a T-shirt that says “Great Grandpa to Be … December 2017.”
“I had the idea right away to make my Papa a t-shirt as I know how he loves his shirts and it would be something he would be so happy to wear,” Rollo said.
At first, Papa didn’t seem to understand the significance of the T-shirt. But moments later, he was in tears.
“I knew he would be excited and emotional, but I honestly didn’t know what his exact reaction would be,” Rollo said. “I am so thrilled at how overjoyed he is about the news!”

Rollo said this was the “best news” since her grandmother, Baba, died in 2008.
“We all miss her so much,” she said. It’s exciting to be able to bring new life into this family.”
And now, Papa gets to join in on the fun when he hosts a gender reveal party for his first great-grandchild in upcoming weeks.
