A Kentucky mother needs your prayers as her 8-year-old daughter fights for life following a serious car crash. Last Thursday, Miranda Williamson and her family were heading back home after a few days in Florida.
“Traffic came to a dead stop and I didn’t know what to do so I pulled my truck to median, but then I overcorrected and we flipped 3-4 times,” Miranda Williamson told WAGA-TV.
Williamson’s daughters Jadyn,10, and Jacie, 8, were ejected from the car.
“I was stuck inside, but somehow my husband managed to get out,” Williamson said. “All I kept asking was how my girls were doing, how my husband was and if I had hurt anyone else.”
The horrific accident landed the entire family of four in the hospital. Miranda, her husband Josh, and 10-year-old Jadyn were later discharged, but 8-year-old Jacie is still fighting life-threatening injuries.
“She’s on life support,” Williamson said. “She has multiple skull fractures, a collapsed lung, a punctured lung, the list goes on.”
In the wake of such tragedy, Williamson told WAGA that the outpouring of prayers from people around the world — from Germany, to Canada, to their hometown in Kentucky — are making all the difference.
“Our swim team in Kentucky made posters, prayed together and sent us photos,” Williamson said. “People have reached out from not only across the country, but from all over the world. Parents are sending me videos of their kids adding Jacie to their nighttime prayer list.”
A family friend also created a GoFundMe page to help the Williamsons with Jacie’s medical costs. As of Wednesday morning, the page had raised over $6,500 of its $10,000 goal.
The overwhelming display of support has been a great comfort to Williamson and her husband, proving equally as vital as the medical treatment Jacie is receiving.
“I’m witnessing something beautiful,” she said. “It’s giving me hope.”
