God says that pure, undefiled religion is to care for the widows and the orphans. Incredibly, there are around half a million children waiting to be adopted — in the United States.
Now, thanks to one unselfish family, seven siblings who had been broken up into different foster homes and had completely lost hope for ever being together again – have finally found their forever home.
Together.
Siblings Dava, Erica, Eric, Zavian, Leondras, Reginald, and 12 year-old Necia are overjoyed to finally have a family to call their forever family and home, something they thought was impossible.
“We thought we would never ever get adopted. But I thought this was a really good blessing for us,” Necia said.
It’s all thanks to the faithfulness of Dashoan and Sofia Olds, whose generosity and selfless act has given these youngsters a new, exciting outlook on life. The couple were inspired to adopt after watching a report done on the children a few months ago, and it was instantaneous. They have two children of their own, and had always wanted to adopt. But when they saw these seven kids they knew it right away. They explained the feeling to local news:
“It was a done deal from the day we saw the story,” Sofia said. “Before we even met them, it was a done deal. When I saw that picture, it was a done deal for me, honestly. We looked at each other and said, we’ve got to do this. It’s time. There’s no maybe, we have to do this.”
The parents said they look forward to helping the kids grow in their faith and in the community.
“We’re going to build their faith up, we’re going to build them up educationally, get them active in a sport or activity or something extracurricular. And we’re going to love each other so, we’re going to do all of it.”
The kids favorite thing about their new home?
“That we’re living with all our sisters and brothers,” they said.
Beautiful when God makes the path forward so clear! And when people are obedient to the calling. Check out the full inspirational story below:
