Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has proven time and again that he’s a fighter.
And, just days after doctors diagnosed McCain, 80, with brain cancer, he has once again shown that very little can keep him down, as he went out for a hike with his daughter over the weekend — a noteworthy event, considering he had just undergone surgery.
“Amazing hike with Dad @SenJohnMcCain this morning,” Meghan McCain tweeted on Saturday, sharing a photo of what appears to be her and her dad sitting on a bench, overlooking greenery. “Thank you all for your best wishes!”

And, on Sunday, John McCain’s own Twitter timeline included a photo of the senator out and about in the wild.
“Enjoying Zebra Falls in beautiful Oak Creek, #Arizona today with my friend Joe Harper,” read a tweet that was shared along with a photo of McCain sitting on a rock alongside his friend.

And relaxation, aside, yet another message sent by the senator on Sunday showed that McCain is still fast at work, despite his brain cancer diagnosis.
“Glad deal finally reached for sanctions on Russia, Iran & North Korea,” he wrote. “I’m reviewing details closely to ensure strong, effective sanctions.”

As Faithwire previously reported, these tweets come after McCain underwent surgery last week at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He had a blood clot removed from above his left eye, with pathology results showing that the clot was associated with glioblastoma, a form of malignant brain cancer.
McCain — a war hero who has already overcome so much adversity throughout his life — will potentially also now face chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Reuters reported.
Scores of well-known politicians from both sides of the political aisle have offered public prayers and well-wishes for a man who is arguably one of the most well-known and revered members of the U.S. Senate.
