Singer Beckah Shae is back with yet another rendition of a popular mainstream song that she has masterfully re-crafted into a stunning and emotive Christian anthem.
This time, Shae uses her powerful vocals to reimagine Zedd and Alessia Cara’s song, “Stay” — a tune that references “rum and coke” and focuses on love — into something far more transcendent.
Renaming the song “Pray” and retooling its lyrical elements, the singer encourages people to turn to and trust in God.
“Waiting for the time to pass you by, hope the wings of grace will change your mind. I could give ten thousand reasons why you should trust God, cause he’s got you,” she sings. “If you just believe, yeah, I promise you would see that we can stay forever loved, living in his freedom, drinking of his spirit.”

As Faithwire previously reported, Shae has a history of re-tooling top-40 songs. She recently released her own versions of Julia Michaels’ “Issues” and Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa’s “Scared to be Lonely,” among many others.
