One week ago, a petition was created to label the left wing radical group Antifa a terrorist group. Today, there are well over a quarter million people in agreement with the sentiment.
They are known for showing up at various protests and becoming extremely violent, towards both buildings and people. Despite these deplorable actions, however, the media has been slow to condemn their use of violence, in one instance they even put a positive spin on their mission to spread peace through violence.
274,000 names and counting have been added to the petition, which reads:
Terrorism is defined as “the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims”. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States. It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.

Anyone can go on the White House website and create a petition. Whether or not it will gain steam is an entirely different question, and most do not. Labeling Antifa a terrorist organization, however, didn’t take much time at all. It’s only a week on the board and there are more than enough names to garner a response from the White House. The threshold is 100,000 signatures within 30 days if you want the President to respond.
It took only two days for 100,000 people to sign a petition recognizing ANTIFA as a domestic terrorist group. #TrumpTrain winning continues! pic.twitter.com/PYxSDxP0zz

President Trump will then have 60 days to respond to the call to label Antifa a terrorist organization.
Many have been frustrated that Antifa has avoided the wrath of the media, and when President Trump called them out he was also ridiculed for calling out “many sides” being to blame for the violence in Charlottesville, VA last weekend.
You can check out the other petitions on the page – not all of which are friendly to Trump – by clicking here. The Obama administration initiated the petition feature in a good faith effort to use social media to allow regular Americans to have their voices heard.
According to The Daily Wire, other petitions have reached the 100,000 threshold but have not received a response from President Trump. For example, a petition calling for Trump to release his full tax returns easily reached the signature threshold, but as of yet there has been no response from the White House.
