God has creative ways of letting his people know he is with them, and one couple is sharing how they found hope from Jesus in a rather unexpected way.
Engaged couple Zac Smith and Alicia Zeek received an ultrasound of their daughter, who technicians said looked healthy and like their “perfect baby.” In addition to daughter Briella, however, the couple said they saw Jesus.
The couple told Feel Good Fox 43 that upon looking at the ultrasound image, they distinctly saw a man wearing a robe and crown of thorns, who they say is Jesus, and is watching over their daughter.
The image has Smith emotional, who had to blink to be sure it was there, and said it “almost brought tears to my eyes” and left him “speechless.”
While the couple isn’t very religious, the image still provided them with a sense of comfort and reassurance. Zeek’s first two children were born with complications, and the delivery of her second child, a son who was born with a cleft lip and palate, almost killed the baby and herself. Smith described his nerves in realizing he could lose both his fianceé and daughter during the birth. Once he saw the ultrasound image, however, he felt they had “nothing to worry about.”
Facebook provided a variety of responses as to what others saw. Whatever they may say, Smith sees the image as a sign from above and “as my blessing.”
News of the ultrasound image has reached other parts of the country and even the world. Fox News reposted the article and shared it to their Facebook page. BBC News also covered the story and reported Briella was born on Wednesday, the day Fox 43 aired the story. Both she and Zeek are doing well, as is Smith, despite his nerves.
The happy ending may not end there, however. Fox 43 shared the couple is thinking of going to church now after the birth of their daughter.
