A man is claiming that actor and movie producer Tyler Perry recently left a $500 tip for his wife at the restaurant where she works.
“My beautiful wife was blessed at work today. She served Tyler Perry and he gave her an awesome tip on a 27.00 ticket,” read a Sept. 11, Facebook post by a man who goes by “Louieville Slugger.” “It couldn’t have came at a better time. Thank you Lord for always watching over our family and thank you Tyler Perry also.”

The man, whose wife reportedly works at at Green Vegetarian Cuisine in San Antonio, Texas, went on to say that Perry “didn’t have to tip like that” and expressed gratitude for his kind act.
“What an awesome day,” he concluded.
As Faithwire previously reported, Perry was recently in the headlines for coming to Pastor Joel Osteen’s defense and announcing during a Facebook Live video that Perry will be giving $1 million to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
“I know there’s been some controversy about Joel Osteen and him not opening the doors of the church. Let me tell you something: Joel and Victoria are amazing people,” Perry said, referencing the pastor and his wife. “There’s no way that they would lock people out of the church and not let people in for shelter.”
The actor said that he spoke with Osteen on the phone about the situation and that the preacher’s explanation about safety issues surrounding rising waters delaying the opening up of the church “made perfect sense” to him.
In fact, Perry announced that he will be giving $250,000 to Lakewood Church, Osteen’s house of worship, in an effort to help the church’s hurricane relief efforts.
