Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure took to Facebook earlier today to post some encouragement for everyone hurting today, especially those directly impacted by the tragic and cowardly attack in Las Vegas that claimed the lives of at least 58 and injured hundreds more.
Bure quoted John 16:33, which reads “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world.”

Bure went on to explain that evil does not take God by surprise, saying “He knows we will suffer in this lifetime and His heart breaks with ours. But He’s also still sitting tall on His throne, not pacing back and forth nervously.”
It is precisely at times like these when people are either thrust toward belief, or directly out of it, so calling on people to remember God’s sovereignty and power is a great comfort in the face of tragedy.
“He’s already won. He’s already overcome. The evils we endure in this world are indeed painful… but they are temporary. With a broken heart for the lives lost and the families and friends affected by this tragedy, I pray with very few words,” Bure said.
“But, I rejoice because God hears our prayers and holds us all tightly in His grip,” she added.
We may not ever fully understand why evil is allowed to remain, causing great suffering and grief. But we can know that we serve a God who is bigger than all of it, and is working all things for good. God promises that one day He will wipe away all the tears, and there will be no more pain and no more sorrow.
That is the hope we can rest in as Christians today, in spite of awful tragedies like Las Vegas – that no matter what we face, God will always be there, waiting to make it right.
Prayers for all affected.
