As tragic as the Las Vegas shooting remains, there are still stories of heroism, from everyday Americans. This includes those who did and did not survive.

One young woman’s Instagram post from the concert, just “moments before” the shooting, is going viral, as it details all the people who made it possible for her to publish such an update.
In addition to sharing the goodwill involved from all of these people, Tiffany Michelle’s post also paints a picture of the chaos involved. Even still, people helped each other out.
Her husband, Tommy McGrath, is an off-duty police officer who shielded her from bullets. They got separated, but that didn’t mean Tiffany was left without help. She describes how there were girls nearby who saw that she had been separated from Tommy, and grabbed her to run away. There was also a man who pulled her over the fence when her boot got stuck. Tiffany was safe after friends came to get her, when the shooter was still active.
Tommy also survived. Tiffany’s post details how he continued to help others. “Above all thank you for my brave husband who used his own body to shield me and others from bullets as those next to us were shot. When we were separated and he realized he could no longer protect me he stayed behind to hold pressure on gunshot wounds and carry people to trucks for departure to hospitals,” her post in part read.
Tiffany credits God for her husband. “I already do and will continue to thank God he brought this man into my life.” She also knows that not all were as fortunate as she and her husband, and wrote that I “urge you to thank an officer. I know I will hold mine a lot closer today and forever.”
The Newsner video of Tiffany’s post encourages viewers to “Share to remind people that love still exists in the world amidst the darkness.”
