Evangelist Franklin Graham spoke to more than 7,200 people in Waco, Texas, on Wednesday night — the hometown of famed “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines — and delivered a powerful message that led many to embrace faith.

Graham, who visited Waco as part of his “Decision Texas: The Lone Star Tour,” told the crowd that Jesus loved them and that Christ died for their sins.
“God will not only forgive you, he’ll heal your heart,” Graham said. “He’ll give you a new life and a new beginning.”
Graham later turned to his own Facebook page, where he recapped his message in pointed fashion.
“I told the crowd the truth — there’s only one way to heaven,” he said. “Jesus said, ‘…I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’ (John 14:6).”

According to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website, “many” people found forgiveness as a result of the event, with one prayer volunteer named Ruby explaining how she prayed with a mom and her two teen daughters.
“[The mom] was just in tears and was very broken,” Ruby said, explaining that the woman had fallen away from her faith and had become an addict.
That mom rededicated her life to Jesus and her younger daughter also accepted Christ at the event — a moment that Ruby said was “sweet,” as it involved the whole family.
“It was beautiful,” she said.
