Millions have watched a viral video of baby girl Charly cooing, like most babies at two-and-a-half-months do at the sound of their mother’s voice. However, the video of Charly is special. Having been born “profoundly deaf,” this is the first time the infant has ever heard her mother’s voice.
Mother Christy Keane often shares milestones of her beautiful young family on social media, but this video of Charly with her new hearing aids has reached far beyond her friends and family.
The video shows Charly being held in Christy’s lap, looking up at her mother. As Charly hears her mother’s voice, she coos, smiles, and even cries out a bit. At the end of clip, as Christy tells Charly, “I love you,” the emotions on the her face are clear — incredible!
Since being posted last Thursday, Christy’s video has had over 10 million views and 195,000 shares on Facebook, and another 183,000+ views on Instagram.
Christy is emotional and optimistic in detailing Charly’s hearing. “We had our miracle moment that I have been praying for when Char got her hearing aids today. We didn’t think she would hear anything so this was more incredible than I can put in to words. Her journey to implants and language development is off to an amazing start!”
