The Hill has more:
An appeals court has reportedly ruled that an undocumented teenager held in Texas who was blocked from getting an abortion can have the procedure.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia overruled a previous decision by a three-judge panel on the court that had prevented the 17-year-old from getting the abortion, according to The Associated Press.
As Faithwire previously reported, the teen in question is 15-weeks pregnant, and would not only be having her abortion very late in term, but it could also be at the taxpayer’s expense.
The initial ruling from a federal judge required involvement from the Department of Health and Human Services. On Friday, however, a federal appeals court issued a stay.
The Trump administration had until October 31st to find a sponsor for the young woman to be able to have her abortion, without involving the agency. But the latest court action overturns that Friday decision. Read more about the case here.
