A popular pastor learned the value of keeping her cool during life’s oft-times annoying scenarios after a pizza-delivery-gone-wrong yielded a chance encounter with a fan who deeply admires her.
Pastor Kim Pothier, star of reality TV show “Preachers of Atlanta,” ordered pizza on Sunday and had an unfortunate experience, realizing once the delivery guy left that her delectable dinner had been dropped and was a mess inside the box.
“I called up there and asked for them to bring me another one. They were so apologetic and I was NICE !!” Pothier wrote in a Facebook post. “It would have been real easy for me to be a little hangry lol (hungry/angry) but thank you Jesus I was sweet as pie and I’m so thankful!”
As it turns out, the store’s manager told Pothier that she would personally deliver the pizza, and when she did she instantly recognized the popular preacher — and the encounter, captured on camera, is pretty hilarious.
“Oh my gosh! I know who you are,” the manager said, as she moved about in shock. “I love you!”
Pothier laughed and the two bantered, as the manager couldn’t contain her excitement. The pastor, of course, joked that she was happy she was kind to the manager on the phone rather than getting frustrated over the scenario.
And as it turns out, the pizza store manager had a pretty touching story to share with Pothier.
“You are the most awesome person I have ever seen on TV,” the manager continued, explaining that her life was difficult when she found herself watching Pothier’s sermons on “Preachers of Atlanta.” “I was going through so much. I have gotten myself together. I was homeless when I used to watch that show.”

In the end, Pothier said she was overjoyed that she had a chance to meet the women and was grateful that the first pizza got messed up so that the encounter could unfold. She also used the incident to point to an important lesson.
“You never ever know who is going to know you. She had been following me for a year and started back when she was homeless,” Pothier explained. “My flesh could have messed up my whole loving reputation that she had of me. So the moral of this story is, BE NICE walk what you Talk!”
