At least five people are dead after a shooting that unfolded at multiple locations, including a California elementary school.

“At this point the suspected shooter is deceased by law enforcement bullets,” Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said of the incident. “I know of at least three deaths.”
Jeanine Quist, an administrative assistant with the Corning Union Elementary School District, said that no one was killed at the school, but that some students were shot and injured during the attack, The Boston Globe reported.
Johnston also said that some students were airlifted from the scene.
Police are reportedly investigating five separate crime scenes, with one witness claiming that there were two shooters, though that was not mentioned by police, who spoke about a singular party. Based on overarching reports thus far, there was only one shooter.

Coy Ferreira, whose daughter is a kindergartener at the school, described one suspect in his 30s or 40s who was wearing green camo before fleeing the scene. Ferreira also said that he saw at least one boy get shot in the chest and foot, but said the child was alert.
Another child was reportedly shot in the right leg.
Brian Flint, a man who claimed to be a neighbor of the shooting suspect, told Jim Schultz, a court reporter with Redding.com, that his roommate was killed by the assailant and that he had been harassed by him beforehand; he identified the man allegedly responsible as “Kevin” and said that he is a felon who is in his 50s, KNSD-TV reported.

“The crazy thing is the neighbor has been shooting a lot of bullets lately – hundreds of rounds, large magazines,” Flint said. “We made it (known) that this guy is crazy and he’s been threatening us and everything like that.”
This is a breaking news story. Stay tuned for updates.
