Patience is many times in short supply in store check-out lines, especially this time of year.

But a Walmart clerk is serving as an example to us all after she showed a man incredible grace when he was overcome by stress and started fumbling his change. Her response is going viral — and for all the right reasons.
The situation unfolded when a customer at a Walmart in Clarksdale, Mississippi, noticed that the man in front of her was getting nervous as he struggled to count handfuls of change that he wanted to use to pay for his items, WXIN-TV reported.
“He looks apologetically back at me and starts taking handfuls of change out of his pockets,” Spring Bowlin wrote in a Facebook post. “He miscounts and starts to get flustered. Gives me a muttered, ‘I’m so sorry.’ His hands and voice are shaking.”
That’s when the cashier stepped in and offered to help, telling the man, “This is not a problem, honey. We will do this together.”

Bowlin also assured the man that it was okay and, after he left, thanked the cashier for being so kind to him. That’s when the Walmart employee said something that we all need to hear this holiday season.
“You shouldn’t have to thank me, baby,” she said. “What’s wrong with our world is we’ve forgotten how to love one another.”
The experience left Bowlin, who shared a photo of the interaction between the cashier and the man, saying that her “heart was warmed” and that she wants to be more like the kind woman.
In a culture that is so fast-paced — and during a time of year when shopping gets extra-chaotic — the clerk’s response and her message about love are certainly something for all of us to ponder.
