Tis’ the season for giving. That’s a sentiment that one North Carolina family was recently reminded of when they encountered something truly surprising at their local Walmart.

Julia Stultz told WJZY-TV that she was shopping with her husband and son in Charlotte when her son looked down and noticed a greeting card on the floor.
He picked it up and the family found a message on the card’s envelop that read, “If this card has found you — open it, it’s yours.” So, they opened it.
The bigger surprise, though, was what was inside, with the family finding $100 and a message imploring whoever found the money to “pay it forward.”
“May this gift bring you a little peace today,” the stranger wrote inside the Christian-themed card. “One day please pay it forward. May the blessings of God be on you always.”
The greeting card also carried with it some pre-printed encouragement, with the card’s stock message reading, “Asking the Lord to fill your heart with hope and your day with peace” and with the text of 2 Thessalonians 3:16 printed at the bottom.
Stultz, who was stunning by the find, said that she does plan to pay it forward.
So, there you have it: a little pre-holiday goodness. Let’s all be thinking about what we can do to encourage someone — even a stranger — this holiday season.
