A Michigan family mourning the death of a man who lost his battle to cancer is searching for a stranger who was photographed paying his respects.
DeAnna Flamm-Phillips photographed the man’s simple gesture during the funeral procession for Phillip Dooley, Sr. to Fort Custer and posted it to Facebook. The man is seen standing outside of his car, appearing to bow his head in prayer.
Flamm-Phillips said while many people pulled over to allow the procession to go by, many “paid no regard.”
“It is a simple gesture to strangers in the procession if not to say anything other than you respect their loss,” she said. “This man brought tears to my eyes.”
Now, the family is hoping social media will lead them to the reverent stranger so they can personally thank him.
“Sir, whoever you are. That was respect! God Bless You.”
Flamm-Phillips is asking that people share her post or email her at DeAnnaphillipsRealtor@gmail.com if they know who he is.
