UPDATE 4: NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio released the following statement on Twitter, following a press conference in which the terror suspect was identified as Akayed Ullah. Preliminary reports are identifying him as a 27-year-old, ISIS-inspired man living in Brooklyn.
Let’s be clear – this was an attempted terrorist attack. Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals. Our first responders were there quickly and the only injuries we know of right now are minor.

The NYPD will secure all transit hubs and major sites in this city. You’ll see additional officers out in force. When you see something, say something. Speak up because you could be saving lives.
