Twin brothers who both happen to play in the NBA spread some holiday cheer a little early this season when they paid off $6,000 in layaway orders at a Philadelphia Walmart.
Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris and Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris chose the Northeast Philly Walmart on Adams Avenue because they were raised nearby by their single mother, Thomasine Morris, the 28-year-olds told WPVI.
On Monday, customers were lined up for the store’s final day of layaways when they heard the news of the Morris twins’ good deed.

“God bless them. God bless them!” Roberta Williams told WPVI. “It’s wonderful what they are doing for the people.”
While the twins were not able to be there themselves due to their basketball schedule, their mother made the holiday delivery for them. Both have been playing in the NBA for six seasons.
“It’s a blessing to be able to give people anything,” Thomasine Morris said, adding that although her sons are living in different cities, “Philly is still our family.”
