The third installment of the popular “God’s Not Dead” franchise is heading to theaters on March 30, 2018 — and Pure Flix just released the action-packed and dramatic trailer.
Titled, “God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness,” the movie focuses on the destruction of a church and the importance of finding “healing and hope” amid life’s chaos. Here’s an official description:
A church destroyed. A congregation silenced. A relationship shattered. Yet even in life’s darkest valleys, a small flame can light the way toward healing and hope.
After a deadly fire rips through St. James Church, Hadleigh University leaders use the tragedy to push the congregation off campus, forcing the church to defend its rights and bringing together estranged brothers for a reunion that opens old wounds and forces them to address the issues that pulled them apart.
Some of the themes and storylines are clearly still a mystery, but there’s at least one compelling character line in the trailer; it unfolds when a woman proclaims, “The whole world knows what the church is against. But it’s getting harder and harder to know what it’s for.”
That’s certainly a sentiment worth considering in our modern era.
