When Super Bowl Champion Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith visited his sister-in-law’s school Tuesday, he encountered a boy who he described as the biggest Eagles fan he has ever met.
“Sup man. Who’s your favorite player?” Torrey asked the boy, who immediately burst into tears at the mere sight of the famed wide receiver.
“Carson Wentz,” the boy replied, his voice cracking with emotion. “OK,” Torrey says, as he reaches into his pocket for his phone. Then, guess who Torrey calls on Facetime? Yep, the man himself, Eagles QB Carson Wentz. The boy instantly collapses, completely overwhelmed that he has come face-to-face with his hero.
“I’m at my sister-in-law’s school bro, I’ve got easily the biggest Eagles fan I’ve ever seen in my life, bro, I swear,” Torrey tells Wentz as the boy tries to collect himself.
“Hi,” the boy says to Carson in the absolutely wonderful moment.

Smith praised Wentz’ positive reaction to the call, as obviously it’s been a pretty busy week for the franchise QB, who got engaged shortly after winning the Super Bowl.
“They say you learn a lot about someone’s character once they taste success, and if that’s the case the Eagles only look better in the afterglow of a Super Bowl title,” wrote Kyle Neubeck at Philly Voice.
Amen to that! It’s just another indication that these guys are taking this momentous victory in their stride, remaining down-to-earth and remembering what is truly important. So good!
