Country music legend Reba McEntire posted a stunning, heartfelt prayer to her Facebook page to coincide with the National Day of Prayer that took place on May 3.
Whatever you are doing, just stop for a minute and pray through these beautiful words:
“Heavenly Father, I pray for peace, joy, health and wisdom for my family, friends, our nation and our leaders. I pray that you heal the heart of our enemies. Give them peace and happiness. I pray for forgiveness for our sins and those of our enemies. I pray for God‘s will, not my will. I pray for God‘s way, not my way. Thank you Lord for your love. I love you with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.”

Since McEntire posted the prayer to Facebook, it has received almost 30,000 shares and 100,000 likes.
“Today is going to be a beautiful day. A great day because the Lord made it. I pray for all of you. Thank you for your sweet comments,” Reba added in the comment section.
The prayer drew thousands of comments from fans who were delighted to see their country music idol use her platform to point people to Jesus.
“Very nice Reba,” one person wrote. “I’m going through a tough time right now maybe a little praying is what I need to do. Thanks for reminding me. Bless you.”
“AMEN. Reba…” another added. “Thank you for publicly declaring your faith, there are so many celebrities that could use their spotlight to turn the appreciation to God, but sadly a good many don’t realize what God has done for them. May God bless you. And i’m glad to join you in your prayer…”
McEntire has never been one to shy away from publicly sharing her faith. As Faithwire previously reported, after releasing her first ever gospel album early last year, she appeared on the Today show to both perform some of her tracks and explain why she decided to produce such faith-filled music.
“It’s always the right time for faith and inspirational songs and hope,” she declared. “We all need faith and hope.”
“I needed that faith, that faith strengthened, that hope,” she added.

McEntire also told USA Today that she believes God has called her to make a gospel album, saying it’s “about changing lives.”
“It’s a message from God. That’s why I’m here, not to be rich and famous and popular but to help people. I’m the conduit or, as I call it, the water hose,” the singer said. “That’s what God wanted me to be when He gave me this voice: I’m supposed to stand up and give His message.”
