Cancer is a horrible disease. It has devastated lives, and current statistics indicate that almost no-one will leave this world without either suffering from it or knowing of someone who has. Treatment can be arduous, and the uncertainty surrounding future recovery can be terrifying.
URGENT PRAYERS: 7-Week-Old Baby Girl Fighting for Her Life after Being Struck by Softball
One thing is for sure — anyone who is going through a cancer battle can always do with a bit of hope. And that’s exactly what one Christian woman offered Mallorie Bush Cochran, who began chemotherapy in late April while 22 weeks pregnant.
Jamina Johnson decided to go and minister to Cochran with nothing but her heart-stirring vocals. The beautiful moment of sung worship was captured by Chochran’s father, who posted it on Facebook.
It is utterly heartbreaking yet wonderfully hopeful to watch, as the pair look to Jesus, who is with us in our deepest need:

“You are great. You do miracles so great. There is no-one else like you,” Johnson belts out, as Cochran lifts her hands in praise. “You deserve the glory and the honor. We lift our hands and worship. God we bless your holy name.”
“Well we done had ‘church’ today!! Thank you so much Ms. Jamina for coming by and singing and praying into Mallorie!!” Walter Bush wrote alongside the video, which has been shared nearly 8,000 times since it was posted over the weekend.
Cochran’s local church community in Raleigh, North Carolina, has been rallying around her, appealing for prayers on Facebook:
“Good afternoon Grace family! I need all of you to help me pray for a very special lady. Mallorie Bush Cochran is 22 weeks pregnant and will be starting chemo this week. Mallorie is a strong woman and we are believing for a complete healing in her body. She WILL testify of this miracle with her sweet baby. Please help me pray!!” read a post by Grace Church Raleigh.
“This is what I call ministry through music,” one Facebook user wrote of the video. “This was absolutely beautiful and I know God is pleased. We are called from the church house to the community. There are so many sick and shut-in that need ministering and not a performance. Outreach just blesses my heart. This lady is awesome for stepping out and being there for that lady and all I can think is how much of a great example she’s setting in doing God’s will in every area of her life, not just in the church.”
