In a newly released video by media organization Cut, a series of children are quizzed about their opinions regarding the issue of gender identity. In the highly concerning video, many of the kids who seem to hold a logical view of gender difference are relentlessly questioned and implicitly told that their simple beliefs are invalid.
The Boy Scouts Have a New, ‘Gender Inclusive’ Name — and Not Everyone is Thrilled
In one segment of the video, a dad is seen trying to, quite blatantly, align his daughter with his own views on gender identity. The following exchange is immensely sad and highly troubling.
“When did you find out if I was a boy or a girl?” the girl asked her father.
“Maybe 15 minutes after you were born,” the dad responded. “But, as I am learning, that was just the sex you were born. That doesn’t mean that is the gender you are going to be.”
The daughter, clearly confused by this, fires back: “I am not a boy.” This clearly does not satisfy the father’s agenda, so he continues to question and confuse the young girl. “How do you know that?” he asks.
“You just know, you shouldn’t have to think twice,” the daughter replies.
Then comes a heaping of guilt from the father: “I think there are people that feel like society is telling them they can’t be what they feel they are, so they do second guess.”
In another conversation between a mom and her two sons, things get even weirder. When one of the boys, clearly kidding, asks what happens if someone “forgets” their gender, the mom replies:
“There are people who don’t really identify as a boy or a girl. They are in that middle space. So you could be super woman, like really girly, or super manly. Then there is probably a lot of us who are just kind of floating somewhere in the middle.”
“How many genders are there?” one of the boys quizzes. “Infinity?” the mom replies, much to the bemusement of her kids.
The lack of well-sourced information provided by these parents to their kids is absolutely staggering and incredibly irresponsible. The good news? Cut has received a heap of backlash to its posting. Despite the video having received over 160,000 views so far, it has over 10,000 “dislikes” and just a few thousands “likes.”
“All these dislikes give me hope :-)” one person commented on the video. “The dislike to like ratio says it all. This is disgusting and confusing for these kids,” another added.
Now, Christian advocacy organization “Focus on the Family” is responding to the video by urging parents to adequately educate their children on matters of gender so they are prepared when faced with this type of liberal ideology.
“Parents can lay a foundation of truth with their children even before they encounter transgender ideology,” Jeff Johnston, issues analyst for Focus on the Family, told The Christian Post “Moms and dads can begin by teaching basic biblical truths about God’s good design for humanity, explaining that God created humans male and female in His image. Both are good; both are valuable — but they are distinct.”
