A server at an Arkansas diner received the tip of a lifetime on Mother’s Day after connecting with a customer over their faith.
Brenda Pearson was working at the 4 Star Diner in Roland on Sunday when she encountered a customer whose to-go order had been messed up, KFSM reported.
“It actually got made wrong first and I said well, it`s not correct, it needed two patties, but we fixed it and got it all ready,” Pearson said.

When truck driver David Platt, who lives in Mississippi, said he was leaving a $1,000 tip, Pearson “couldn’t hardly breathe,” she said.
An hour later, Platt came back for pie, and left another $1,000 tip for Pearson.
Platt said that after he had a conversation with Pearson, he thought she could use the money.
“It was late and there wasn`t really anybody around and so I got talking to her a little bit,” Platt said. “We talked about the Lord and about her life and her children. I got the impression that she was having a hard time of it, so I thought I`d just help her out a little bit.”
Violet Hubbard, a regular customer at the diner, said servers typically earn up to $20 in tips on Sundays, describing Pearson’s good fortune as “amazing.”
Pearson, who has two children had home, said the money was “God-sent” and will help her family catch up on their finances after the moved to Roland.
Platt said he was willing to give Pearson the extraordinary tip because “money is just paper or numbers on a screen.”
“Self-gratification only goes so far,” he said. “So, when you`re helping another person, you`re adding something to the world. It`s an investment and people, people are what`s important.”
