Army specialist Chris Harris died in November 2017, just days after he learned he was to be a father, WTVD-TV reported.
In March, the soldiers who fought alongside Harris gathered to commemorate his daughter’s birth, and the photos that resulted are hauntingly beautiful.

“Knowing that we could come home to a baby girl, that was awesome,” Sgt. Nathan Arthur Bagley said. “When everyone came home, that was the day she was born so that made it ten times better.”
The fallen soldier’s mother, Sue Kolean, said Christian looks just like Chris.
“When she was born, it was like I was looking at my own son,” Kolean said.

Christian has her father’s eyes, her mother, Britt Harris, said.
