After weeks of media speculation about her whereabouts, first lady Melania Trump will attend a reception at the White House honoring Gold Star families, CNN reported.
The event will mark the first time the first lady will be making a public appearance since May 10, something the press has been taking note of ever since she was discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, DC, after her May 14 kidney surgery.

The first lady was hospitalized for five nights after the surgery, returning to the White House on May 19.
The media was fascinated with Melania Trump’s whereabouts – or lack thereof – despite it being less than two weeks since her surgery and she was likely recovering.
I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing. Rest assured, I'm here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!

Even fashion magazine Vogue featured a story titled, “So, Um, Where Exactly Is Melania Trump?”
The president and the first lady hosted a similar event last year. It will be her first public appearance since May 10, when she and the president greeted prisoners who had been freed from North Korea upon their return to the U.S.
A sincere thank you to Walter Reed Medical Unit @WRBethesda & to all who have send good wishes & prayers! I am feeling great & look forward to getting back home @WhiteHouse soon.

Melania Trump was not among the president and his children, including Donald Trump Jr., Tiffany Trump, Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, over the weekend when they stayed at Camp David.
She will not join her husband at the G7 Summit or on the June 12 summit planned with North Korean leader Kim Jon Un.
