It’s no secret that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wants to completely get rid of the state of Israel, but words from the Supreme Leader himself this week showed once again how volatile his regime is.
On Sunday, Khamenei tweeted out an anti-semitic statement encouraging the eradication of Israel.
The tweet read: “Our stance against Israel is the same stance we have always taken. #Israel is a malignant cancerous tumor in the West Asian region that has to be removed and eradicated: it is possible and it will happen. 7/31/91 #GreatReturnMarch”

Just a few months ago, in April, Ali Shirazi, a liaison for the Supreme Leader, threatened to burn Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground.
#Iran's Leader's representative to #IRGC Quds Force Ali Shirazi: Iran is not #Syria. If #Israel wants to survive a few more days, it has to stop this child game. Iran has the ability to destroy Israel & given the excuse, Tel Aviv & Haifa will be razed to the ground.

Neither of these threats come as a surprise, as Iranian leadership has called for the eradication of Israel for years.
Yet, despite the outright verbal threats, people still argue that the Iranian regime doesn’t truly want to get rid of Israel.
But facts show that there has been a constant stream of both threats and lies coming from Iranian leadership. Whether it was outright denouncing the state of Israel, or lying about creating nuclear weapons, the Iranian regime does pose a threat to the nation of Israel and the Jewish people within it.

This is not the first time Khamenei himself has threatened the state of Israel. Just this past April he commented that if pushed far enough, Israel would have to crumble. He stated: “With an intense and planned struggle, they should force the enemy to retreat toward the point of demise.”
Tensions between Israel, Iran, and the United States increased over the past couple of years, under the leadership of President Barak Obama. In April 2015, the former president sided with Iran when he threatened to shoot down Israeli jets, an out of character move historically for the United States.

Tensions in the Middle East continue to grow, especially since President Trump announced the US would be pulling out of the Iran deal.
Today, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, is attempting to convince other European nations to follow the US and exite the deal as well.
Netanyahu argues that Iran is hoping to destroy Israel by increasing their uranium enrichment capacity. This is not an easy feat as places like Britain, France and Germany favor the accord and the nuclear program that comes with it.
