Tomorrow, President Donald Trump will meet with North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un in a historic summit in Singapore. The entire world will be watching this event closely.
But as Christians, we have the power to do more than watch. We have the power to pray and boldly intercede before the throne of God. Here are four ways you can pray for this landmark meeting as it approaches:
1. Pray For Wisdom For President Trump And All Involved
After months of heated exchanges between the two leaders, there will be tremendous tension surrounding this meeting. Pray that President Trump and his advisors will be filled with wisdom as they prepare and interact with the North Korean delegation.
2. Pray That The Summit Will Be A Success
Although there is some debate over what an ideal summit will look like, most people agree it will be successful if it opens the door for continued talks between the two nations and establishes a starting point toward denuclearizing North Korea. Pray our leaders will make some progress to solve this conflict.
3. Pray The Summit Won’t Overshadow Human Rights Abuses
If the summit is a success, many worry it will distract from human rights abuses going on inside North Korea. Christians are especially targeted and can be arrested and tortured for practicing their faith. Pray for their safety and that the world won’t forget them.
4. Pray That God’s Word Will Flood North Korea
Despite the threat of persecution, more than 300,000 North Korean Christians remain committed to Christ — and they are begging for Bibles. Many have never even seen a Bible, making it difficult to grow in their faith. Pray that God’s Word will flood North Korea, so Christians and even those who have never heard about God can have access to it.
More than praying, we also can be a part of bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula. World Help has been working to provide Bibles to Christians inside North Korea. For just $10, you can place a Bible in the hands of a persecuted North Korean believer, giving him eternal hope in Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Our nation, our president, and our North Korean brothers and sisters desperately need your prayers this week. Please join with Christians around the country as we pray for this pivotal event.
