Pornography use among Christian men is an epidemic. Statistics show that over 60% of Christian men admit to viewing it monthly. They aren’t alone. While the numbers are lower for Christian women, they’re still concerning.

Dan Andros, the managing editor of Faithwire.com, has seen the statistics and he’s decided to do something about it. Faithwire is working on a comprehensive course to help people — especially men — break free from pornography.
“You’re almost lucky if you got a drug addiction … ,” he says, while stressing he’s not downplaying the seriousness of those issues, “[because] you’re not going to get the red carpet of empathy rolled out for you for the sin of pornography or sexual temptation like you will for, say, drug addiction.”
Andros’ comments come as part of an exclusive interview within Kirk Cameron’s new community, The Campfire.
So how do people break free? Andros says it starts by getting rid of the shame and stigma that forces people into silence about the problem, and then by realizing if you’re struggling with it you’re not alone.
“There’s a tendency to convince yourself and believe the lie that Satan tells you that, ‘Oh, I’m horrible. If they only knew what I did in my hidden time then no one would befriend me,’” he says. “But in reality, you have a large number of people actually thinking the exact same thing. So knowing you’re not alone is definitely a high priority.”
He goes on to offer some other helpful tips that you can listen to below in this expert from The Campfire.
