Actress Heather Locklear has been hospitalized for a psych evaluation after reportedly threatening to kill herself, according to reports. Locklear, who has featured in movies such as “The Perfect Man” and “Angels Fall,” was admitted to a medical facility Sunday after she claimed to be suicidal and was hunting for a gun.

According to PEOPLE, Locklear, 56, wasn’t getting the help she needed to address “underlying mental health issues.”
“[Heather] is clearly not getting the proper medical and mental health help she needs,” the source told the outlet. “She isolates herself, which only feeds into the other issues. Of course, you can’t force someone to get help — they have to want to — but it’s hard for someone who is sick to make smart choices and keep at it. She has family and friends who are desperately trying to help.”

According to TMZ, the Ventura County Fire Department was called to Locklear’s home Sunday after a family member called 911 and expressed serious concern for the actress’ personal safety. According to dispatch audio, Locklear was seeking after a firearm but “does not have access to any weapons,” according to the outlet.

“She really needs a proper evaluation, different medication, and clearly more help than she has been getting to truly determine what her mental health issues are,” the source detailed to PEOPLE.
Do pray for Locklear and her family at this incredibly difficult time.
