Earlier this spring, Rob Doherty wrote the song “You’re Amazing,” to raise funds to send Alfie Evans to Italy. Unfortunately, due to restrictions with the NHS and Alfie’s hospital, that never happened. Alfie’s family spent months fighting the English court system, but after 16 months in a vegetated state, young Alfie Evans passed away.
Now, Doherty is now donating all of the proceeds to Aflie’s headstone and the foundation that was created in his name. — and Alfie’s supporters are trying to get the song to hit #1.
‘Absolutely Heartbroken’: Alfie Evans Has Died After Surviving Almost a Week Without Life Support
Sarah Evans, Aflie’s aunt, posted on the Aflie’s Army Official Facebook page this past week.
“For those of you wanting to send messages to Thomas on Father’s Day thank you, a lot of asked how can they help………This song was written for our warrior Alfie and all proceeds go to Thomas and Kate and all proceeds now go to help Alfie’s headstone and his foundation. Alfie is and will always be AMAZING,” Evans wrote.
Aflie’s supporters chimed in, agreeing to band together to bring the song to number one on iTunes.
Shirley Holmes wrote: “Let’s make this number one before Sunday.”
Lisa Ashcroft said: “Let’s definitely get to his number one for our little warrior who gained his angel wings this morning.”
“Alfie’s song for number 1! That would be an amazing tribute for the boy who captured the world’s heart,” Rosanna Osborne wrote.
