There’s a video spreading across social media of a group of U.S. soldiers singing “Amazing Grace,” and if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to watch it immediately.
OK, it’s not necessary, but it’s a nice dose of positivity in an atmosphere weighed down by an endless stream of bad news, or as the kids say these days, “fake news.”
We so often see the bravery, selflessness, and respectability espoused by our heroes in uniform, but rarely do we catch a glimpse of their gentler side, the side with which those of us in plain clothes identify. Their humbling unity and humanity were no more on display than when this band of brothers and sisters sang not only about their love of country but about their faith to the gospel.
There’s no denying this group of heroes can really sing, and their performance is a fantastic reminder that, while our politics might be tense, we wouldn’t be where we are without their sacrifices and would be lost without the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
See? Now I hope you understand why I told you to watch it.
