Chris Pratt has never been one to shy away from putting his faith on display, and Sunday night was no exception, when the movie star tweeted out the Bible verse James 1:19.
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. JAMES 1:19,” the Avengers star tweeted.

The post came days after director James Gunn, a close friend of Pratt’s, was fired from filming “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” after some controversial tweets of his resurfaced.
“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him,” Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn told ET.
Amid the many responses Pratt received for his tweet, one of the weirdest was a hilarious exchange between one user who apparently believes Pratt is Starlord — his fictional character from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series — and another user trying to convince him otherwise.
Twitter user Tyler Huckabee seems to believe that Pratt is actually Starlord in real life. When Twitter user Kedi Bishop tried to clarify that it is just a fictional role he plays, all chaos broke loose.

Pratt has always been very open about his faith on social media, but ever since announcing his divorce with his ex-wife Anna Farris, he has become even more outspoken about his reliance on the Almighty.
Just last month, Pratt accepted MTV’s “Our Generation Award,” using his speech to encourage fans to believe that “God is real,” and that “God loves you.”
When Pratt was awarded his Hollywood star back in 2016, he dedicated his speech to his mom, thanking her for shaping him into the man of God he is today.
“I’m a man of faith, and I believe that God works in mysterious ways and gives us signs and gifts in life —and those gifts oftentimes come in the form of people,” he continued. “[My mother] gave absolutely everything she had to raise us, every fiber of her being. And oftentimes, we weren’t cash-rich, but we were never love-poor. You gave everything and you were always proud of me, way before this.”
He has also asked his Twitter followers on multiple occasions to pray for people who are sick — once for a fellow actor, and another time for a child he did not know personally.
This past February, fellow actor and producer Kevin Smith had a massive heart attack, Pratt took to Twitter to ask his fans to pray for Smith’s recovery and healing.
“Kevin we don’t know each other too good but I have loved you since Clerks and I’m praying my a** off for you cause I believe in the healing power of prayer. Can you please pray with me people!?” Pratt tweeted.

In 2016, Pratt asked his fans to pray for a young boy who was battling brain cancer, crediting the power of prayer for saving his own son once.
“The power of prayer saved my son. This boy Sam needs a miracle. Say a prayer for Sam. Even if you never have b4.Try,” the actor wrote.

Pratt has also been active in volunteering with sick children, visiting numerous hospitals to spend time with kids who are fighting for their lives.
Hollywood Director Defends Prayer After Actor Chris Pratt Criticized for Praying
In one Instagram post, Pratt cited Psalm 37:3–4: “Trust in the LORD, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. Also delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

On a different occasion, he visited children and parents at the Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children’s Charity in London.
Pratt captioned a photo of the visit with a reflection on how unbreakable a child’s spirit is, quoting Psalm 1107:8-9, “Let them praise the LORD for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men! For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.”

Pratt also took to Instagram in 2016 to show the giant cross he had created in honor of Easter and Christ’s resurrection.

John 8:12 reads, “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness but will have the Light of life.’”
Hats off to Pratt for using his platform to be a light in the dark spaces of Hollywood and social media.
