The woman who is to replace newly retired Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards is an emergency room doctor who reportedly fled China with her parents at a young age.
According to The New York Times, the family of Dr. Leana Wen left China following the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre, which happened just before her eighth birthday.
“Dr. Wen is fearless,” said Sarah Stoesz, the chief executive of Planned Parenthood for Minnesota and North and South Dakota, of the new appointment. “As an emergency physician, she has faced dire and urgent crisis and demonstrated her ability to quickly and very effectively save lives.”

Despite supposedly scrapping its one-child policy in 2013, the Chinese government still has a vice-like grip on its population, and, according to the Population Research Institute (PRI), the forced abortion of babies is alleged to have continued.
“Not only do forced abortions in China continue, but also the levels of coercion are actually higher today than in the recent past,” writes Steven W. Mosher, an American social scientist and president of the PRI, noting the incredibly strict reproductive rules still imposed on Chinese women.
“Women who violate these rules are still being hunted down and, when found, aborted and sterilized,” Mosher notes.
Strangely, Planned Parenthood appears to be championing a woman who escaped this deadly environment, while at the same time appointing her to a position in which she will preside over the deaths of countless unborn children. As Life News points out, Planned Parenthood is responsible for killing “more people each and every year then cancer, guns or cigarettes.”
“Especially unsettling about Dr. Wen is her failure to take a stance against the abhorrent forced abortions in her native country,” highlighted Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life activist Abby Johnson, according to LifeSite News. “If she truly believes in female empowerment, she would spend more time fighting for them and less time fighting bureaucracy.”

“As an immigrant, she understands as many of our patients do, what is feels like to be on the outside,” Ms. Stoesz continued in her statement praising Wen’s appointment. “As a child in rural America, she understands the unique health access challenges that people, especially women, living in large, conservative and sparsely populated states face. As health access continues to be threatened, Dr. Wen instinctively knows how to respond, and what works.”
Judging by her early statements, Wen is sliding right into the mold forged by Cecile Richards’ ghastly presidency.
“For more than 100 years, no organization has done more for women’s health than Planned Parenthood, and I’m truly honored to be named its president,” Wen said in a statement upon accepting the post. “As a doctor, I will ensure we continue to provide high-quality health care, including the full range of reproductive care, and will fight with everything I have to protect the access of millions of patients who rely on Planned Parenthood.”
Clearly, the abortion business is attempting to bolster the narrative that it is a mere “health care provider.” But, as Kristin Hawkins of Students for Life America explained, this could not be further from the truth.
“It’s a shame that the Hippocratic Oath, to heal and to do no harm to any patient, is not held in the highest regard by the physicians at Planned Parenthood,” Kristan Hawkins said in a statement on the new Planned Parenthood leader. “Putting a doctor in [as president] of Planned Parenthood won’t change the fact that the overall mission of that organization is ensuring that many lives are ended at a huge profit to the nation’s number one abortion vendor. Abortion is not healthcare, and women deserve better than what Planned Parenthood wants to sell them.”
Planned Parenthood, which is responsible for the deaths over 300,000 unborn babies each year, rakes in almost $1.5 billion annually.
