Last week, administrators at Benton High School in Louisianna took the controversial decision scrub out the “Christ Fit Gym” business logo because it featured a cross symbol and the word “Christ.”
Billy Weatherall, who is the owner of Christ Fit Gym, paid $3,500 for his logo to be painted across the end zone of the Benton High School football field. The graphic featured a cross, the name of the business and a scripture reference: “1 Timothy 4:8.”
However, after convening the school board to discuss the issue, the governing authorities have decided to re-paint the logo on the field, as reported by CBN News.
“The vote was unanimous, the logo is going back on the field. A huge thank you to this community for standing behind what is right. God always wins!!!” an ecstatic Weatherall said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

“This is something I believe in,” he said. “This is what my faith is all about. This is something I cannot and will not compromise on.”
In another Facebook post, the gym noted that, though students at the high school were instructed to paint over the logo, one kid refused on account of his religious faith.

In a video posted to Facebook Saturday, Weatherall said that he would ensure his sponsorship contract was honored, and that his business logo remained intact on the football field.
In a video posted to Facebook, Weatherall explained the situation in more detail. “We put the Christ Fit logo on the field. Then, on homecoming, I was told that they would be erasing the logo from the field,” the gym owner explained. I’ve been told that people are gonna lose their jobs over this. Let me tell you, I’ve been praying a lot and seeking the Lord and this is what the word says: ‘Far be it from me, for those who honor me, I will honor.’ God will honor those who honor him.”

“I believe it’s not honoring God for me to just stand down and tell you that it’s okay because it’s not. Guys, I signed a contract.”
Billy’s message to the school was very simple: “If you want this to go away, just put [the logo] back on the field!”
Well, it looks as if the school listened!
