British TV anchor and columnist Piers Morgan has earned scorn from just about every corner of the internet after making fun of “007” star Daniel Craig for carrying his daughter.
As it turns out, as we all should know by now, sexism is still alive and well. But in case you just aren’t convinced, Morgan suggested Tuesday on Twitter that, somehow, Craig using a backpack to carry his baby in some way “emasculated” him.
Oh 007.. not you as well?!!! #papoose #emasculatedBond pic.twitter.com/cqWiCRCFt3

And since, you know, the idea that fathers can’t carry their infant children is patently absurd, Morgan earned quite a bit of backlash on social media Tuesday.
Here are a few responses:

You’re too kind but it’s my lady who is awesome! she had to do all the hard work of carrying them to full term! pic.twitter.com/WnX2Gbh76c

This is absolutely one of my favorite pictures. Solomon Nesta, my son loved his carrier. We bonded may a day on our walks through my neighborhood. He gets to explore in the safe of daddy arms. #PiersMorgan #papoose? #emasculatedBond = #DanielCraig, Good Daddy. pic.twitter.com/NUMFzlNkGm

This is me wearing an Elsa dress after Lyric asked me to wear her Mom’s Halloween costume. I look ridiculous. But who cares? That’s what you do for your kids. I’m sure @piersmorgan would find this emasculating. I say only if you’re uncomfortable in your masculinity. pic.twitter.com/kDOvnw4pz2

Love those moments when the Twitters steps up, like showing @piersmorgan what being a Dad is all about. https://t.co/Ki53qLbzOh

So how did Morgan respond? Well, as is his wont, he passed the buck.
Rather than admitting his comments are stupid at best and sexist and worst (I’d wager it’s a bit of both), Morgan argued the only reason some fathers were firing back at his ignorant missive was because their girlfriends and wives were somehow forcing them to tweet their responses to him.
They’re only doing it because their wives/girlfriends told them to.. https://t.co/SPyG5a438c

It’s worth pointing out, of course, that it’s unlikely any women actually cared about one commentator’s uninformed opinion enough to compel their significant others to send photos of themselves carrying their children to a British television host.
Anyway, this isn’t the first time an actor who played James Bond was spotted caring for his child:

No one tell Morgan. It’ll just be the world’s little secret.
