Is it morally acceptable for Christians to celebrate Halloween? It’s a question that comes up every year around this time, and according to a recent CBN News Facebook poll, an overwhelming amount of believers are opting out of the widely contested holiday.
A staggering 87 percent of believers said they feel that Christians should not celebrate Halloween, while 13 percent believe it’s OK.
Former Satanic Priest: Christian Prayers Blocked Me from Carrying Out Evil
In an interview with CBN News’ “Prayer Link” last year, pastor and former Satanist John Ramirez said Christians should think twice before partaking in any Halloween festivities.
“Sometimes people say, ‘I celebrated Halloween 10 years ago, I did this 15 years ago, I did this 20 years ago,’” Ramirez said. “But the door’s still open. You just cursed your family from three to four generations.”
The pastor said Christians who do celebrate Halloween should stop immediately. Ramirez also suggested these people should think back to the year they started celebrating and “renounce it in the name of Jesus,” asking God for forgiveness.
Responding to Christians who claim to observe a more wholesome or modified version of the secular holiday, Ramirez offered an example defending his stance:
“Do you know any Satanists who say, ‘Hey, we’re going to come into Good Friday and we’re going to hang out with the Christians and we’re just going to call it a different name?” he said.
