In what can only be described as a nightmare scenario for both mother and son, 6-year-old Teddy sat alone at a table set for 30. It was his birthday, and no one showed up.
Over the weekend, Sil Mazzini told KNXV-TV she invited dozens of children from her son’s school to attend a birthday bash at Peter Piper Pizza in Tucson, Arizona. The long table was filled with pizza and plates, with no children sitting in front of them.
Mazzini explained to KSAZ-TV that Teddy’s birthday was actually Oct. 3, “but because his dad works in Alaska and was able to come the 18th, I organized the whole party for the 21st.”

The little boy’s mother made goodie bags for his classmates, each of which contained an invitation to the pizza party. Mazzini even said she spoke with a few parents the day before, each of them assuring her they’d be at the dinner.
Nevertheless, Teddy sat alone at his own party.
So Mazzini took to social media to gather well wishes for her son’s birthday. That’s when a couple of sports teams found out about the no-shows.
The Phoenix Suns decided to invite Teddy and his family to “celebrate with thousands at our place.” The NBA team invited the 6-year-old birthday boy to come see them play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
How about we celebrate with thousands at our place! Tickets to Wednesday’s #SunsVSLakers game are all yours Teddy! Talk soon! https://t.co/YL3zjDX9JW

In addition, the soccer team Phoenix Rising FC invited Teddy to “join 7,000 of his closest friends” at their playoff game this Friday.

Mazzini quipped to KNXV she’s “done with parties for a while.” That might be true, but there’s no doubt this will be a birthday to remember for Teddy.
