Vice President Mike Pence, who is confident Republicans will both maintain control in the House of Representatives and gain seats in the Senate, said this week prayer is the “pathway to heal our country.”
Pence made the comments during an interview with CBN News in between campaign stops as he traveled around the country aboard Air Force Two.

“I believe, as every president from George Washington forward believed, in the role of providence in the life of this nation,” the vice president said. “I really do believe the prayers of the American people have made a difference. And even in these divided times, I do believe those prayers are a pathway to heal our country and continue to move our nation forward.”
Should Republicans succeed Tuesday, Pence said it will be largely thanks to President Donald Trump, whom he said has “campaigned as though we were” on the ballot. Pence told CBN he hasn’t seen “this level of enthusiasm since the days just before the 2016 campaign.”
And the vice president thinks the enthusiasm will work out not for Democrats, but for Republicans.
“We think the blue wave is going to hit a red wall all across this country,” he quipped. “I think we are going to expand our majority in the United States Senate. And I really believe we are going to hold the House of Representatives.”

Pence said Democrats have promised nothing but “an agenda of obstruction,” while Republicans and the Trump administration is responsible for a thriving economy, “rebuilding our military” and placing “constitutional conservatives” in the courts.
“That’s exactly what the president and I told the American people we would do,” Pence said.
