Singer and producer Selena Gomez took to Instagram recently to encourage her followers to listen to a song on Christian artist Lauren Daigle’s new album.
In the Instagram story, Gomez, who has been fairly transparent about her personal struggle with mental health, said Daigle’s song “This Girl” has positively impacted her in her struggle with depression and anxiety.
“I like to listen to worship music and this song, in particular, makes me feel like I’m talking about that feeling,” she said, going on to explain that sometimes, even when people do the “right thing,” they still don’t feel good.
Gomez went on to ask her followers not to “get annoyed” with her because she keeps talking about Daigle’s newest album, “Look Up Child,” which released in September and outperformed records from pop star Ariana Grande and rapper Drake.
“She’s, like, speaking my language,” Gomez said of the Christian singer-songwriter.

Gomez’s recommendation came not long after she was reportedly admitted to a hospital for mental health treatment in early October. At the time, an unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight the former Disney star had been struggling with depression since her kidney transplant in 2017.
The 26-year-old celebrity was allegedly hospitalized because of an “emotional breakdown.”
Daigle has enjoyed a lot of success for her latest album, with recent performances on both “The Ellen Show” and “The Tonight Show.”
