On Sunday, the Mayor of Flavortown flew to California to provide some home-cooked meals for the brave firefighters who were fighting the wildfire in Butte County.
Guy Fieri didn’t create a show surrounding his generous act of kindness, but the Butte County Sheriff’s Department took to Facebook and Twitter to praise the actions of himself and his team.

Fieri hasn’t made much of a big deal about his good deed, but as the Huffington Post notes, the Butte County Sheriff’s Department is singing his praises on Twitter.
“Guy Fieri made a surprise visit to serve dinner to everyone at the law enforcement staging area at Butte College. Thank you so much Guy for filling our bellies and lifting our spirits,” the Butte County Sheriff wrote on Twitter.

On Monday morning Fieri tweeted: “In today’s tumultuous world, it’s amazing to see our fire fighters, military, law enforcement and first responders come together to rescue our communities devestated by fire. So many great people stepping up to take care of one another #ProudAmerican #CampFire.”

This isn’t the first time Guy Fieri has provided aid in a time of need. This past summer, in July, he brought his team to Northern California to assist during the Carr Fire. His team fed over 1,000 people. In October 2017, Fieri brought his team to Northern California to assist during the fires, cooking 5,000 meals a day.
Other world-renowned chefs have done similar things. As previously reported by Faithwire News, “after Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico, José Andrés swooped in to help with the damage, feeding over 3.6 million people.”
As wildfire’s and natural disasters demolish countries and states, these celebrity chefs shine a light, showing a bright side to humanity.
