A few hours after Kanye sent out his initial tweet, he tweeted out a picture of Scripture that was highlighted.
The passage came from 1 Peter 4:12-13, which reads, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.”

This isn’t the first time the rapper has quoted Scripture on social media. Last week, Kanye tweeted out a link to Hebrews 3:12-15, while crediting YouVersion for being his “favorite app.”

The founder of YouVersion quote tweeted Kanye, saying, “My favorite app too,” with a wink.

As Faithwire previously reported, West told his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, in 2013 that he is a Christian, adding, “It’s important to me that I grow and walk and raise my family with Christian values.”
And over the summer, West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, told Vogue her family is “really religious.”
“We start our day with a group chat with a Bible verse from my mom, and everyone chimes in on the meaning of it,” she revealed. “We are very Christian — and our work ethic and our discipline comes from so many years at Catholic school.”
