An Ohio doctor has lost her job after a series of anti-Semitic comments she posted online came to the attention of hospital directors.
The Cleveland Clinic released a statement Monday confirming the departure of 27-year-old Laura Kollab, Cleveland.com reported.

“She is no longer working at Cleveland Clinic,” the hospital announced. “In no way do these beliefs reflect those of our organization. We fully embrace diversity, inclusion and a culture of safety and respect across our entire health system.”

Kollab, who worked as a supervised resident at the Cleveland Clinic from July to September 2018, once referred to Jewish people as “dogs” in a tweet posted to her personal account, according to Crime Online. In a separate post, the young physician said that she would “purposely give” Jewish patients the wrong medications. Her now-deleted Twitter account also featured many anti-Israel comments, including support for the violent Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement and derogatory statements about the Holocaust.
The racist posts were first reported by the Canary Mission, an online watchdog group that flags anti-Semitic comments online. The findings for Kollab were overwhelming.
“Allah will kill the Jews,” Kollab wrote in a 2011 tweet.
“There’s actually nothing worse than a ‘sympathetic’ Zionist,” she wrote in 2013.
It remains unclear as to whether the hospital fired Kollab because of her views. Troubled by this, Oncologist Dr. Miriam Knoll took to Twitter to stress the need for a zero-tolerance policy toward racism and bigotry in the medical field.
@clevelandclinic doesn't clarify if Dr. #larakollab was fired for her #antisemitic views saying she would compromise her professional values to hurt #jewish patients. Statement says that she is a former employee&they dont share her views (good to know)

“We are lucky that #LaraKollab expressed her views publically-bec they otherwise could have been discovered too late,” Dr. Knoll wrote. “A Dr who compromises care based on #religion shouldnt b caring for patients.”

While Kollab no longer works at the hospital, her medical license remains active until June 2021, according to public records.
