Evangelist Franklin Graham has asked for people to continue praying as his sister, Anne, goes through cancer treatment. Anne Graham Lotz, also a popular Christian evangelist, was diagnosed with breast cancer in September and has since been required to undergo a grueling regime of chemotherapy.

“My sister Anne Graham Lotz is undergoing chemotherapy,” Franklin posted to Facebook. “It’s been tough, but I can’t tell you how much the prayers have meant to her and to our entire family. Thank you for praying—please continue.”

Lotz has continued to use her illness as a tool to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She often posts biblical devotions on her Facebook, and uses references to her cancer as a way of communicating the life-saving message of faith in Jesus.
“As we totally yield our lives to the control of God’s Spirit within us, He uses: the responsibilities and relationships and ridicule, the opportunities and obstacles and obligations, the pressures and pain and problems, the success and sickness and solitude . . . He uses all things to work for our ultimate good, which is increasing, progressive, glorious conformity to the image of Jesus Christ,” she wrote in a post on Friday.
“We are God’s treasure!” she added. “When God the Father looked throughout the universe for something to give His only Son in reward for what He had accomplished on earth, the Father handpicked you! You are the Father’s treasure – His priceless gift of love to the Son!”
