On Sunday afternoon, President Trump visited an evangelical church in Northern Virginia to honor and pray for those that lost their lives in the Virginia Beach shooting this past weekend.
After leaving his golf club in Sterling, Virginia Sunday morning, the President made an unannounced stop at Mclean Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia.
David Platt, head pastor of the church, lead the congregation in prayer, as Trump stood behind him.
Platt prayed for the victims of the Virginia Beach shooting, and ended his prayer by asking for wisdom for the President as he continues to lead the United States.
President Trump did not make any comments to the congregation, but mouthed a “thank you” while walking off the stage.
According to Judd Deere, the White House’s deputy press secretary, the president visited Mclean to “visit with the Pastor and pray for the victims and community of Virginia Beach.”
President Trump’s surprise visit came on the same day that Rev. Franklin Graham had called for a nationwide day of prayer for the president.
